NEW QUICK CHANGE TOOL PACKAGE

NEW QUICK CHANGE TOOL PACKAGE

01/09/2017

The concept of performing tool change in the shortest possible time represents an undisputed necessity for modern industrial manufacturing of cold forged parts, even made in smaller lots, making the forming process more competitive against traditional machining methods.

In developing the tool change system, SACMA made it without compromising the rigidity and the reliability of the machines.

The CR quick tool change system, standard for machines series 3, 4, 5 and 6, for both progressive and combined headers, allows an easy removal of the die block, hydraulically clamped, and the same for the punch block bolster with the wedges and the complete transfer unit.

A new QTC Package is available to improve the production efficiency as an option to equip the machine with one or more set of die box, punch bolster plate with the wedges and transfer unit. Two trolleys are supplied together with the punch bolters and the die boxes:

1) Punch bolsters on service trolley

The trolley is made in two pieces. It is possible to handle the upper one with the lifter and move to the tool room easily .

There are nr 2 positions : top , for the punch bolster with the new tools , ready to be placed in the machine using the flag crane ; bottom , for the punch bolster coming from the machine. After moving the top bolster in the machine, the disassembly of  punches is done by sliding out them from the punch holder to  the plate at the same level.

The wedges are together the punch bolster, making possible the complete set up of tools outside the machine, including the adjustment of the wedges.

The change of the trimming wedge to the forming one and vice-versa is also done outside the machine, when necessary. The punch bolster is fixed to the main slide by mean of quick releasing bolts ,using a pneumatic screwdriver.

2) Die boxes on service trolley

The concept of the trolley is the same of the punch bolster one.

Two pieces for easy handling and two positions : top, for the die box to be mounted in the machine  and bottom for the die box dismounted from the machine.

The fixing of the die box in the machine is done automatically by hydraulic cylinders, integrated with the main frame.

When the machine is equipped with  the TSAP (Transfer Support Assisting Package) the complete set up of that device can be done outside the machine.

3) Extra transfer

In the size 4 and 5 machines the extra transfer is placed in the suitable sliding shelf over the operator platform.  A supporting jig is supplied to fix the extra transerf for the change and the centering operation of the fingers. That jig should be placed by the user in the working table over the platform or in other comfortable position at floor .

In the size 3 machines the extra transfer should be placed directly in the supporting jig over the working table. The jig for centering the fingers, both inside  or outside the machine, is also supplied.

The transfer can easily be dismounted from the machine by activating  two hydraulic cylinders .In the size 3 machines there are two quick releasing pins.

Did you know? The SACMA Combined headers maintain all the mechanical and performance qualities of the Progressive headers, from which they derive. The heading station is exactly the same than the progressive header. It is therefore possible to make the quick changeover as on the progressive headers and make different parts than bolts and screws as special net shape parts. This demonstrates the unique real modular system making our well-earned reputation of versatility, quality, precision, reliability and longevity providing the best value for your investment.
